Day 4

WHY IS MY PATH NOT CLEAR?

If it’s true God has the perfect plan for each of us, how do you explain the troubles, worries, and lack of clarity that fill our days? IS there a way to find clear direction for our lives?

FOG-MAKERS

There are so many things that distract us from our true purpose and obscure our path. In 2016, U.S. adults devoted almost 11 hours a day to screen time.1 Add work, sleep, meals, and other obligations and it can be challenging to find time to nourish our souls. It’s no wonder God asks us to “Be still, and know that I am God.”2

SEPARATION

When we disobey God’s commands (which all are guilty of3), we sin, and sin separates us from God.4 Living in sin makes our path in life harder than it needs to be.5 Through God’s love and grace we can be forgiven and brought back to God’s side. Jesus Christ was sacrificed once for all so we can overcome the world.6

ALLEGIANCE

Everyone puts trust in something. Maybe it’s a job, money, power, belongings, happiness, or any number of other things – all of which take our focus from God. The Bible makes it clear that God takes care of his own,7 so if struggles are getting you down, maybe it’s time to put your faith and trust in God and Jesus.

QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

  • What are some things in your life that you put faith in?
  • Have these things ever let you down?
  • Are you at a point in your life where you desire greater clarity?

TEST IT:

Turn off the TV and sign off of social media. Ask a Christian for their personal proof that God is working in their life.
